Welcome to the workbench

Try motion

Choose Examples → Motion Explorer, then Motion → Play. Its rear wheels and concept arm have preset speeds. Drag individual sliders to preview any joint. Reset returns to zero; Build restores the saved assembly. To create a moving joint, select its type in Connect, or use Edit beside an existing connection. Set the parent-local pivot, axis, limits and speed. A fixed path that locks a joint must be disconnected first. Closed joint loops are not supported.

Connect two parts

Select the part to move, choose Connect, then click one of its blue points. Hover over a point on the destination part to see a translucent preview of the resulting placement, including connected parts. Click a destination to pin the preview. In the Connection Builder, set twist, flip direction, or adjust the offset, then choose Apply fixed connection. A blue preview can be confirmed. A red preview indicates interference or a below-surface placement and cannot be connected. Move away to dismiss an unpinned preview. The faces align. Fixed links lock the parts together; hinges and sliders can move in Motion. Documented interfaces are shown by default. Enable unverified CAD points for components that do not yet have curated definitions.

Blue points come from apertures in the official geometry. Axle endpoints and part centers are also available. Movement is constrained above the surface, and intersecting placements are blocked using the converted model geometry. Verify manufacturing tolerances, fastener choice, and moving mechanisms before a physical build.

Positions are shown in millimeters. Grid snap uses a 12.7 mm pitch; rotation snap uses 15°. Explorer is a connected four-wheel assembly with two motors, brain, battery, axle supports and installed fasteners. Choose Examples → Beginner frame for the simpler starting point. Motion Explorer adds a virtual arm hinge and omits inner collars that obstruct rotation; its arm mounting and axial retention are not a verified hardware design. Motion is kinematic: no electrical wiring, gravity, traction or motor torque simulation. Motion checks intermediate poses every 2° or 1 mm, not continuous swept volumes. The battery clips are elastic snap fits; the checker recognizes their seated pose without simulating deformation. Use Parts list for quantities; disconnect a joint to modify a subassembly. Browser storage is local to this device.
